RADIOGRAPHY STUDENT ORGANIZATION CONSTITUTION

The principal purpose of this organization is to promote job opportunities in the community, increase awareness of the Milwaukee Area Technical College ("MATC") Radiography Program in the community, and to assist MATC faculty and staff in developing a radiography program which is a value to the students, school, and community.

ARTICLE I - NAME

The name of this organization shall be the Milwaukee Area Technical College Radiography Student Organization.

ARTICLE II - MEMBERSHIP

A. Any student at MATC enrolled in the Radiography Program on either a full-time or part-time basis may become a member. There shall be no limitations on the size of this organization.

B. All MATC students satisfying a specific criteria of membership regardless of race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, age, handicap, arrest or conviction record, veteran's status, or any other protected class

C. Membership shall be divided into the following two classes;

1. Voting members. A voting member shall be a current student at MATC enrolled in the Radiography Program on a full-time or part-time basis.

2. Non-voting members: A non-voting member shall be an honorary member of this organization.

ARTICLE III - OFFICERS

A. The officers of this organization shall consist of a president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer, who shall be elected by the voting members for a term of one year or until their successors are elected.

B. To qualify as an officer of this organization, the person must be an active member of the Radiography Program, have a grade point average of at least 2.0, and have at least one year left in the program.

C. Elections are to be held once a year at the first meeting in September by taking nominations from the floor and then voting on those nominations.

D. If an officer should withdraw from the organization or give up their position for any reason, the president shall appoint an interim officer to serve the vacancy until the next regular election is held.

ARTICLE IV - FACULTY ADVISORS

Faculty advisors shall be any of the day school instructors of the Radiography Program.

ARTICLE V - MEETINGS

A. Meetings shall be held monthly from September through May at such time and place as may be determined by the officers. When necessary, the president has the authority to call a special meeting.

B. A quorum for voting purposes on any matter shall consist of 2/3 voting members present at the meeting.

C. The principal location for meetings of this organization shall be at the Downtown Campus.

D. When appropriate, Roberts Rules of Order shall be followed.

ARTICLE VI - AMENDMENT

Amendment of this constitution requires previous notification and a two-thirds affirmative vote of those present and voting.

ARTICLE VII- RATIFICATION

Ratification of this constitution requires a two-thirds affirmative vote of those present and voting.
